| The doctors aren't willing to say anything more than "dementia," but in all likelihood, my grandmother has Alzheimer's. It drives me crazy sometimes... Like when asks the same question every five minutes, or takes dirty dishes out of the dishwasher and puts them on the shelves, without anyone else noticing, until they come across a cup or a plate that is dirty... She's living with us, and it can be hard to do quite a few things... She's never understood the rules to Deal or No Deal, and I doubt she ever will. She keeps thinking that the people are doing well when the case they picked has the million in it. No matter how many times you explain to her that they are picking cases to be eliminated from play, she doesn't seem to get it. I love her, but its been tough... Has anyone else been through something similar? | |

| My grandmother had Alzheimer's, it wasn't too bad at the beginning, but she gradually started to forget a lot of things, eventually to the point where it became too hazardous for her to live alone. For a couple of years, she lived in a retirement home, still forgetting things. After reaching a state where she could not even swallow properly, she was moved to a hospital, where she was taken care of for some months before she passed away around the end of December. | |

| My great grandmother had it. It was tough to cope with. Especially considering that she said that is the one thing she didn't want happening. I feel terrible about her having had it. But these things happen and we can't stop it. Just cope with it and make the best of it. | |
