Just a note: creating a character without a mentor (by fighting someone else at the start) results in a weaker overall character. Mentors increase your chances of getting skills and pets that the mentor already has. The mentor also gets experience whenever the pupil levels up. Yes, that means you can create characters for every one of your friends and give them all exp. You can't do it for yourself though, because it will see the same IP and it won't give any exp.
