| On The Table:- Tabletop Gaming Thread
In this thread, anyone who has ever played a tabletop game is allowed to discuss their favourite games and stuff.
What does this include?
- Card Games - Board Games - War Games (for example, Warhammer 40k) - Tabletop Roleplaying Games - Other (any other game that I have not mentioned that can be played on a table) _______________________
I just bought a hardbook copy of Mage: The Awakening today and started to read it, rather than read my PDF version.
I am also getting 3 new PDFs for my collection from Stu soon.

| XD that picture made me laugh. I haven't played scrabble in quite some time, but the new rules are going to make it too easy in my opinion. - Quote :
- Place names, people's names and company names or brands will now count.
Scrabble players will be able to spell words backwards and even play words unconnected to any other words on the board. perhaps i could house rule it to ignore that rule?

Actually the official Scrabble tournament rules will still not count the proper nouns and such. The rules apply only to the new version of the game

| One of my favorite tabletop games I ever played was about 5 years ago: Mage Knight. Had a small hobby store a few miles from my home that had weekly tournaments and such. Good fun.
Only one I play nowadays is Magic: The Gathering, and even then very infrequently :3

@MeNo: That's ridiculous! Scrabble would be a lot more fun if we could use all words. well, except vulgar words, depending on who you're playing with XD I always thought the "no proper noun" rule was ridiculous.

I have been wanting to get into M:tG for a very long while (since at least I started collecting pokemon cards) but never have. Last year, I bought myself an fairly old deck (I was looking for the new decks at the time) but it is sitting in my drawer, unplayed and unloved. Maybe if I get money, I will actually pick up a newer deck for myself and try and get into the hobby.

| I have many board games. I must have around 6 different versions of Monopoly. Memoir 44 is fairly fun and so is Risk. Though Risk takes awhile to set up. PS: Do you have to reply to every topic possible, Zew?(It's kinda annoying) | |

I disagree with you Yuki. I hate playing with proper nouns. Maybe I'm just a Scrabble purist but I feel that adding proper nouns into the mix just eliminates the need to build a good Scrabble vocabulary and it kind of dumbs down the game as a result. Btw, the new version of Scrabble, Scrabble Trickster, not only has proper nouns but also allows backwards spelling. I think it's going too far, but it's a new version so what do I care.

| i agree that backwards spelling is making the game much too easy. and you still have to be able to use the proper nouns on the board. using words like the names of countries and cities, i think, would be amazing. it'd definitely test your knowledge. i didnt mean, like, names of people and such lol that'd be much too easy. | |

Agreed on the Risk part, I tried it once, but it did take ages to set up and that made it a game that I have only played online since. As for Monopoly, I have owned at least 2 versions (Classic Monopoly and Pokemon Monopoly). ------------------------- Here is a list of board games I own/owned for those interested: - Monopoly (Classic and Pokemon) - Big Brother: The Board Game (2 copies) - Noel's House Party - Robot Wars - Mouse Trap

| I loved Mouse Trap, though I agree it was such a pain to set up but was so worth it afterwards.
I know I had more games than the list shows, I just cannot remember every game I have owned/own right now XD.
I do have fond memories of Monopoly though and trying to use the monopoly money to buy items in B&Q.... I was young ;_;
